Frequently Asked Questions

Question 1

How long does one Easy Peasy Pottie last?

Accepted Answer

One box lasts about 1–2 weeks for a single cat, depending on your cat's habits. We recommend swapping it out when the litter starts to look well-loved — you'll know!

Question 2

What's inside the box — and why doesn't it smell?

Accepted Answer

Each Easy Peasy Pottie is pre-filled with our hydrophobic litter blend. Hydrophobic means it repels liquid — so when your cat goes, the urine drains straight down through the top layer and gets trapped in the absorbent layer below. That keeps the surface dry, locks in odor at the source, and means your cat is never stepping in wet litter. No clay, no silica, no mystery ingredients — just clean, effective science.

Question 3

Is the box itself biodegradable?

Accepted Answer

Yes! The box is made from recycled cardboard with a leak-resistant lining. The whole thing is designed to be disposed of responsibly — no guilt required.

Question 4

What size is the box? Will it fit my cat?

Accepted Answer

The Easy Peasy Pottie measures 18" x 14" x 5" — roomy enough for most cats, including big floofy ones. If your cat is on the larger side, the 6-Pack is a great value since you can swap more frequently.

Question 5

What makes the litter hydrophobic?

Accepted Answer

Our litter granules are coated with a plant-based hydrophobic treatment that causes liquid to bead up and pass through rather than being absorbed at the surface. Think of it like a rain jacket for your litter — water moves through it instead of soaking in. The urine drains down to the absorbent base layer where it's locked away, keeping the top layer dry and odor-free.

Question 6

How does the two-layer system prevent odor?

Accepted Answer

It's all about containment. The hydrophobic top layer stays dry so bacteria (the main cause of litter box odor) can't thrive on the surface. The urine drains to the sealed absorbent layer below, where it's trapped and neutralized. No wet surface = no smell wafting up. Your cat gets a fresh, dry surface every time — and your nose gets a break.

Question 7

Does it work for solid waste too?

Accepted Answer

Yes! The dry, hydrophobic surface makes scooping solids easy — nothing sticks. And since the surface stays dry, there's no wet clumping around solid waste the way there is with traditional clay litter.

Question 8

How do I dispose of it?

Accepted Answer

When it's time, just fold the top flaps closed, tape it shut, and toss it in your regular trash. No scooping, no bag-hunting, no mess. That's the whole point.

Question 9

Can I compost it?

Accepted Answer

The cardboard box is compostable in industrial composting facilities. The litter itself should go in the trash — we recommend checking your local composting guidelines before adding any litter to a home compost bin.

Question 10

My cat is picky. Will they actually use it?

Accepted Answer

Most cats take to it right away — cats are naturally drawn to fresh, clean, dry litter. Because the hydrophobic surface stays dry between uses, it actually feels more appealing to finicky cats than a damp traditional box. For extra-cautious felines, try placing the Easy Peasy Pottie right next to their current box so they can investigate on their own terms.

Question 11

What's the best way to transition my cat?

Accepted Answer

Our favorite trick: sprinkle a small amount of your cat's old litter on top of the fresh Easy Peasy Pottie. The familiar scent gives them the "all clear" signal and most cats hop right in. After the first use, you're golden.

Question 12

Can I use it alongside my existing litter box?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. Many cat parents run both side by side during the transition period. Once your cat is a convert, you can retire the old box — or keep both if your cat prefers options (they usually do).
